There was a WT, from January 2008 I believe, that strongly suggested that resurrected 20th century "anointed ones" were "involved in the transmission of divine revelations today" or some such.

Really? I would love a scan of this (hint, hint). It would be fascinating if the WTS is teaching spiritism. I know that there is verse that condemns necromancy. Can't remember off hand where it is.

Clarifying the Trinity Doctrine

since there is so much confusion among ex-jw's, jw's, and christians in general about exactly what the trinity doctrine is, i decided to post this to clarify this teaching.. the historical trinity doctrine of the christian (protestant and catholic) churches has always been this:.

* there is only one true god by nature.. * there are three distinct persons who share equally the nature of god.. * there are not three different gods (that is the false doctrine of tritheism or polytheism).. * there is not one person who is revealed three different ways (that is the false doctrine of modalism).. * however, each person of the trinity does have his own "role" or "function.

" the son willingly obeys the father.

People have to be taught WT doctrine and not with the bible! The WT itself said so.

Your double standard is glaring in that it is OK for the WTS to do this but no one else is.

Please show me where the Bible specifically says:

Ø Paradise is on Earth

Ø Only 144k will go to Heaven

Ø People will be resurected during the Millenium

Ø That the GB is God’s sole channel of communication

Ø Jerusalem fell in 607 BCE

Ø Jesus and Micheal are the same person

Ø Blood fractions are ok

Ø One must go from door to door to earn salvation

Who are you to demand that God word something to suite you? Why do you require a direct statement to support the trinity when you give the WTS a pass on many of their teachings? Why do you have two standards? One for the WTS, and one for all others? I apply the same standards to everyone, why don’t you?

Has it ever occurred to you that when you have to go on these long, convoluted explanations to explain WTS teachings, that you are fitting the Bible around a preconceived belief? Why do you assign this to everyone else and then assume that you are immune from doing it yourself?

Did you think adults were more mature when you were a kid?

i am 25 years old now and work in a manufacturing and distribution facility.

when i was a kid, i always thought adults acted "old" and were usually wakled the straight and narrrow line.

but now that i have been in the workplace for a few years, i am shocked at how "high school" things still are.

When I was a kid, people generally didn't say certain words in public. Or if they did, it was not in front of women or children. It never ceases to amaze me to see people with four letter words emblazoned across their shirt or hat. Then there are those who hang those oversized rubber balls from the back bumper of their trucks. These people supposedly think it is funny, it strikes me as having no class.

i do a lot of the grocery shopping for my wife and myself as we live out in the mountains and i stop on the way home from working early morning hours.

there are some things that just drive me bat-$hit crazy sometimes .

i'll name a few- you carry it from there !

When a 19 year old uppity brat tells me that I "need to learn how to read" because their fricken shelf pricing is off by a factor of 2.
Every time I buy 3 items, the 3rd one rings up overpriced by 10¢
Having to go back to the uppity brat to demand my 10¢.
Having uppity brat tell me "I don't know why you are making such a fuss over a dime."
The self-righteous indignation from the uppity brat when I point out that they are thieves stealing from everyone including children and old ladies.

I won't mention Grand Union's name, but I will never go there again.

i have had loads of discussion on here with so-called trinitarians that constantly refer to john 1:1 as proof of trinity!

but it only talks about the word (jesus) and the god so what happened to the holy ghost?.

if you only use proof that jesus is divine in your texts doesn't that make you a binitarian?.

i myself have always believed that when archaeology disagreed with the bible the bible must be right.

that is how i dismissed the idea that jerusalem was destroyed in 586/587 bce.

Isaac, is your quote the section of Insights that scolar refers too? Thanks for posting it. Regardless, we have the WT claiming a date that does not come from the Bible. It comes from secular sources.

My points are thus:

The legitamacy of the GB and the WTS is bases on dates - 607, 537, 1914, 1919.
No where in the Bible can it be shown that these dates are pegged to a certain point in history.
Any date that is given is calculated using secular translations of Babylonian writings.
Therefore, we can factually state that the legitamacy of the GB and the WTS is ultimately based on Bablylonian writings - not the Bible.

Ummmm, a couple of things here:

Ø You have loudly and proudly proclaimed that you could easily prove that the exiles returned 537 years before the common era using the Bible ONLY.

o Why are you sending me to a book if you can easily do this using only the Bible?

o If this is such an easy task, why are you having such a hard time with it?

Ø I will not refer to Insight for two reasons:

o It is not the Bible. If you are using the Bible only, then use the Bible.

o I do not have access to this book. I am not going to buy this book when it has nothing to do with my question.

You have claimed that this is any easy task, please do it and be done with it. Please be a man of your word.
